We prepare doctors and dentists for practice

We offer two doctoral study programmes: general medicine and dentistry, both in Slovak and in English. The study programmes take 6 years to complete and can only be studied full-time. We have excellent teachers maintaining contacts with renowned partners from the most eminent European and American universities. We also offer postgraduate doctoral studies both in-house and externally, as well as specialisation studies.

We use innovative methods of education

We are intimately familiar with the specific nature of teaching of medicine. That is why we employ cutting edge and innovative approaches that prepare our students for practical application of the acquired knowledge. We use modern methods to build their communication and practical skills. We also use sophisticated patient simulators in our teaching, and have our own 3D bioprinter. We were the first in Slovakia to use virtual reality for anatomy teaching.

International Environment

Our faculty is popular among students from abroad, who currently make up almost a third of our students. This year you will have 270 colleagues from abroad who come from Germany, Japan, Poland, Ukraine, the United Kingdom, Greece and other countries. Not only is this an opportunity to study in a bilingual environment, but you can also learn about the culture and traditions of other countries, and start many lifelong friendships.

Active university life

If you choose our faculty, expect ample social activities, a friendly atmosphere, and support provided by teachers as well as various student associations. There are ample opportunities for self-realisation, including the Student Section of the Academic Senate of the Faculty of Medicine, the Bratislava Medics Association, the SEJK – Bratislava Hungarian Medics Association, as well as the Slovak Association of Dentistry Students. Through them you can gain a lot of valuable experience, learn how to write grant applications, and organise awareness events. You will also have the opportunity to complete a part of your study abroad through the Erasmus+ program, or study in an international environment through the ENLIGHT alliance. If you want to advance in research, you will have our complete support. Our students regularly achieve success in national and international competitions.
