OUR ALUMNI ARE MORE THAN PRIESTS
Our alumni find employment primarily as Roman Catholic priests, but also as religious education teachers, editorial staff in Christian media, members of parish councils, or as notaries at church tribunals, etc. Almost one third of our graduates in the past academic year were women.
STUDY THE ROYAL DISCIPLINE
Our goal is to awaken a creative interest in deeper exploration of both the Holy Scripture and Catholic theology in theologians and laypeople alike, through the study of philosophy, biblical studies, pedagogy, and numerous theological disciplines of both systematic and practical nature, as well as of biblical Hebrew and Greek.
A VARIETY OF LEISURE ACTIVITIES
The MINFA youth summer camps, a nationwide theologians’ futsal tournament for the cup of the Conference of Bishops of Slovakia, publishing of magazines by theologians of priest seminaries, the Pelikán, Blackmen and Slovenský Orol sport clubs – these activities complete the life of our students. Each priest seminary has its own choir that performs both Gregorian chants and modern religious songs.
TESTED BY HISTORY
During a critical period of Slovak and world history, between February and March 1939, a series of professorial lectures against racism and anti-Semitism were held at the faculty. During the period of communism, almost 1,100 theologians studied for priesthood at our faculty, despite intensive state supervision.
